Episode 116: Bringing Out the Dead vs. Ambulance

This week on the Weekly Movie Throwdown, it’s a battle between two films set primarily inside emergency vehicles. Martin Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead from 1999 is a haunting character study of a man (played by Nicolas Cage) who can only find peace at his job as an EMT when he’s saving lives. 2022’s Ambulance, directed by Michael Bay, is a balls-to-the-wall adventure about two brothers (Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who hijack an ambulance after a botched bank robbery and lead LAPD on a high-speed chase through the City of Angels.
